Tire Cloud makes it easy to print professional inventory labels with scannable barcodes for every tire and rim in your stock. Labels help you organize your warehouse, speed up inventory lookups, and present a polished, professional image to customers. This guide covers everything you need to get started with label printing, from choosing the right printer to troubleshooting common issues.

Recommended Printer: Rollo Wireless

For the best label printing experience with Tire Cloud, we recommend the Rollo Wireless Printer. It is a compact, high-speed thermal printer that connects directly to your smartphone via Wi-Fi, making it the perfect companion for the Tire Cloud app. Here is why we recommend it:

  • Wireless Connectivity: Connects to your phone via Wi-Fi -- no cables or desktop computer required. Print labels right from the warehouse floor.
  • Thermal Printing: Uses direct thermal technology, so there are no ink cartridges or toner to replace. Lower ongoing costs and zero mess.
  • High-Speed Output: Prints up to 150mm per second, so even large batches of labels are ready in minutes.
  • Versatile Label Support: Works with a wide range of label sizes, including 4x6 shipping labels and custom sizes for tire inventory tags.
  • Compact Design: Small enough to sit on a desk or shelf without taking up valuable workspace.

Initial Setup

Before you start printing labels, you need to set up your Rollo Wireless Printer and connect it to the Tire Cloud app. Follow these steps:

  1. Unbox and Power On: Remove the Rollo printer from its packaging and connect it to a power source. Press the power button to turn it on.
  2. Load Labels: Open the printer's label compartment and load a roll of thermal labels. Make sure the print side faces up and the labels feed smoothly through the guides.
  3. Connect to Wi-Fi: Use the Rollo app (available on iOS and Android) to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Wi-Fi setup.
  4. Verify Connection: Once connected, print a test page from the Rollo app to confirm everything is working correctly.
  5. Open Tire Cloud: Launch the Tire Cloud app on your smartphone. The app will automatically detect your Rollo printer when both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Printing Labels: Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Once your printer is set up, printing labels from the Tire Cloud app is fast and straightforward. Here is the complete process:

  1. Step 1: Open Your Inventory. Tap "Manage Stock" on the Home Screen or navigate to the Tires or Rims tab using the bottom navigation bar.
  2. Step 2: Select an Item. Browse or search for the tire or rim you want to label. Tap on it to open the product detail view.
  3. Step 3: Tap the Print Button. On the product detail screen, look for the print icon (usually located in the top-right area or action menu). Tap it to open the label preview.
  4. Step 4: Review the Label. The app will show you a preview of the label, including the product name, key specifications, pricing, and a scannable barcode. Verify that all information is correct.
  5. Step 5: Select Your Printer. If you have multiple printers available, select the Rollo Wireless Printer from the list. If only one printer is connected, it will be selected automatically.
  6. Step 6: Adjust Quantity. Set the number of labels you want to print. The default is one label per item, but you can increase this for batch printing.
  7. Step 7: Print. Tap the "Print" button. Your label will print within seconds. Peel the label from the backing and apply it to the tire or rim.

What Is on a Tire Cloud Label?

Each label generated by the Tire Cloud app includes the following information:

  • Product name and brand
  • Tire size or rim specifications
  • Condition and tread depth (for tires)
  • Price
  • Scannable barcode linked to the item in your inventory
  • Your business name and contact information

The barcode on each label is unique to that item in your inventory. When scanned with the Tire Cloud app's Scan Barcode feature, it instantly pulls up the full product listing, making inventory management and customer inquiries fast and effortless.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a printer other than the Rollo Wireless?

Yes. The Tire Cloud app supports printing through your device's standard print dialog, which means it can work with any printer your smartphone can connect to, including AirPrint-compatible printers on iOS and standard Wi-Fi printers on Android. However, the Rollo Wireless Printer provides the best experience for thermal label printing.

What label size should I use?

For tire inventory labels, we recommend 4x6-inch thermal labels. This size provides enough space for all product information and a clearly scannable barcode. The Rollo printer supports a variety of label sizes if you prefer a different format.

Can I print labels in bulk?

Yes. You can print multiple labels at once by selecting multiple items from your inventory before initiating the print process. This is especially useful when processing new shipments or performing a full warehouse labeling session.

Do I need an internet connection to print?

You need to be on the same Wi-Fi network as your Rollo printer. However, the label data itself is cached on your device, so you do not need an active internet connection at the time of printing as long as the product information has already been loaded.

Troubleshooting

Printer not detected by the app:

  • Ensure your phone and the Rollo printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart the printer and wait 30 seconds before trying again.
  • Close and reopen the Tire Cloud app.
  • Check that the Rollo printer firmware is up to date via the Rollo app.

Labels printing blank:

  • Verify that the labels are loaded with the print side facing up. Thermal labels have a specific print side.
  • Run a test print from the Rollo app to confirm the printer hardware is functioning.
  • Try a different roll of labels in case the current roll is defective.

Barcode not scanning:

  • Make sure the label is flat and not wrinkled or smudged.
  • Ensure adequate lighting when scanning.
  • Try holding your phone slightly farther from the barcode (6-10 inches typically works best).
  • Reprint the label if the barcode appears faded or incomplete.

Labels jamming in the printer:

  • Open the printer and carefully remove any jammed labels.
  • Check that the label roll is loaded evenly and the guides are aligned with the label edges.
  • Ensure you are using labels that are compatible with the Rollo printer's specifications.
